Endorsements

I have sailed with Bea between 2021-2023, more recently from Falmouth UK to Mackay AUS as part of a round the world rally. I found her to be completely trustworthy where the boat is concerned and despite the various discomforts that are endured on such a voyage, the needs of the boat always came first. She is a skippers dream, a real self-starter, getting involved in all aspects of running of the vessel – provisioning, maintenance, cleaning, cooking and preparation of the boat for leaving dock, sail planning, adhering to “standing orders”, watchkeeping, safety principles and subsequent arrival and docking. She would then organise to ensure the boat was cleaned, restocked and maintained ready for the next part of the voyage.
Bea is very personable and a very definite positive influence on crew spirits and morale.
She really set the standard high for subsequent crew members and I would have no hesitation in recommending her for delivery crew positions or first mate.

Mark Henley
Yachtmaster and skipper of Misty of Mylor (Island Packet 445)

I have sailed extensively with Beata, including two trans-Atlantic crossings and a
voyage from Falmouth to the Western Isles of Scotland. She has always proved to
be a competent, reliable and enthusiastic crew member
, frequently standing solo
watches, at night, in weather up to Force 7. Always willing to learn and completely
open to feedback but with a steely determination to improve. In addition, she is a
tower of strength above and below decks when it comes to cleaning and
maintenance, often volunteering for the less pleasant aspects which inevitably occur
on long passages. She is also quite happy to be hoisted up the mast to carry out rig
checks. In port she shows a talent for provisioning and subsequent storage of
supplies, keeping an electronic track of their locations on the boat. When ashore she
often takes the lead in organising social events, on the Round the World ARC she
was the instigator and supervisor of the fleet’s WhatsApp group and provided
extensive material on social media platforms.
She is a capable sailor and an asset to any crew.

I sailed with Beata as a member of the crew on Yacht Starling, a Clipper 60 from Portsmouth (UK) to Kiel (Germany). Beata was reliable and always committed to following a task through to the highest standards. Her agile, can do attitude contributed to the team effort especially in navigation and sail handling. Beata is energetic and hardworking, and I would recommend her as a valuable asset to any crew.

Darren Ladd
RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Instructor

I was First Mate during a passage from the UK to Germany and my responsibility was to make sure everything runs smoothly and according to the plan with the Skipper and a crew of nine onboard. Beata was proactive and helpful throughout the 10-day journey. When something had to be done, she was one of the first who volunteered. She was a fast learner and particularly interested in navigation, which triggered an introductory astronavigation lesson for the whole crew.

Neal Gwynne
Yachtmaster / Boat, Sailing Instructor

During her Day Skipper practical course, Beata excellently demonstrated the right theoretical, practical and personal attributes of a good skipper. She is enthusiastic about sailing, good listener and confident when responsibility given to her. From MOB drills to sail trimming Beata showed steady performance. Really enjoyed being her Day Skipper instructor and examiner on Sylvia, Jeanneau 449.

Vince Brodie
Sailor / Instructor / Mentor

As Beata’s RYA Competent Crew instructor and examiner I recommend Beata as a crew member. Beata super passionate about sailing who seeks and finds solutions to challenges. She is a fast learner and was not afraid to get her hand dirty during our sailing in The Solent on Mayan Star (Bavaria 37).
